ETA AMADER GOLPO
5.4Eta Amader Golpo (2024), directed by Manasi Sinha, is a heartwarming Bengali romantic drama about love, companionship and second chances. The story follows Sritama, a Bengali widow played by Aparajita Adhya, and Praveen Sharma, an elderly Punjabi man played by Saswata Chatterjee. The two meet at a laughter club and, despite their different cultural backgrounds and personalities, gradually form a close friendship that blossoms into love. Their relationship brings unexpected happiness and companionship into their lives, but the idea of romance at their age surprises their contrasting families. As Sritama and Praveen consider building a life together, they must navigate family resistance, cultural differences and society's conventional expectations surrounding love and relationships in later life. Blending gentle humour, romance and family emotions, Eta Amader Golpo presents an uplifting story about finding happiness when it is least expected. Ultimately, the film celebrates the belief that love has no age, cultural boundary or expiry date.
